A bond is the connection between two Player Characters, it signifies a dynamic that the characters can have and it leads to advantages in combat and with skill checks.

Bond Types and Sides

Each Bond has two sides, and these two sides can be of different types. For example character A thinks of character B as a rival, but character B sees character A as a close friend. Each bond type dictates how characters can aid each other during skill checks, and they should inform how to flavor Crossover Actions

Types of Bonds

  • Rival: “Let me show you how it’s done!” A sees B as a Rival, so whenever B fails a skill check, A may try the same skill check with a +2
  • Ally: “Let me help you with that!” A sees B as an Ally, so whenever B attempts a skill check, A may increase the result with one of their own Generic Skill Bonuses.
  • Idol/Teacher: “My master never fails!” A sees B as their Idol/Teacher, so whenever B attempts a skill check, A also rolls using B’s Skill Bonus. B may then choose either result.
  • Admirer/Student: “Pay attention!” A sees B as their Admirer/Student, so whenever B fails a skill check, B may reroll using A’s Skill Bonus.
